Medical officials scrambling to stop nurses with fraudulent diplomas from caring for patients across the US
After Florida students were accused of selling thousands of fake nursing diplomas, medical officials across the country are scrambling to stop nurses with fraudulent credentials.
Interesting, here in NY Whorchul removed penalties for people working in hospitals without licenses.
Really? That's a very, very interesting development.

Are you referring to relaxing licensing requirements for new grads?
Yes, I believe it's still in effect, it went past the 30 days.
Also, NY State hospitals were making Covid positive nurses WITH symptoms come in to work... that hospital the nurses have since unionized and are hoping the nurses they fired or forced to quit will come back now that mandate's were ruled unconstitutional by NYSupreme courts.
Thx for clarification. I have been following the union story. Good luck getting those nurses to come back. The hospital better be showing the $$$.
Yeah, I doubt many will go back -- the ones I know aren't interested, they're all patriots :)
I wouldn't either, tbh. I don't work in pt care any more - I have a different RN job now. Corporate told my boss they were going to mandate the jab and she said, "I quit, and so do half my nurses" and that was the end of that.
I have met a few nurses that I could swear had fake diplomas...not too hard to spot...
I have worked with them! Lots of diversity hires who bunch up in the corner on night shift!
Are they the travelers making the big bucks?????
Well, that's hard to say. Travel nursing is pretty demanding and the travelers are expected to perform with very little orientation. It would be pretty hard to slip through the cracks. The article reads that 89 of these fake nurses were working at the VA. Can you imagine?
I have the feeling that this happens a lot with nurses and with doctors as well. I hope that these imposters are removed from the system and some integrity can be restored to patient care.
My daughter is a surgical nurse and I guarantee I have heard an earful about so much incompetence in the nursing profession...but at least she is on a robotics team that requires a little more skill...yeah hospitals have sunk to the lowest depths ever... I would imagine that these nurses working at VA hospitals/clinics is one reason why the VA is so broken. I hope they get rid of these frauds, but then how many licensed doctors/nurses and really incompetent and dangerous...all the more motivation to never need a hospital OR doctor...self care is the way to go...
That's correct, fren. I am an RN and I suggest that everyone work as hard as they can to stay out of the hospital.
My 87 year old dad was admitted last week for small bowel obstruction. I stayed by his side every minute, and thank God I did, bc there were quite a few errors made (for example, he was not allowed food or drink and he also did not have an IV. 87 years old, nvd for 3 days and no fluids? No.) I don't know how people who don't have medical people in their families survive any hospitalization. The hospital is very, very dangerous.
It's hard to want to imagine incompetence in the OR, but I believe you and I know it happens. You have the right idea - stay away from the doctor and the hospital!
I have to hand it to you...it is hard to believe that hard working, honest, caring nurses even want to stay in the hospital system knowing of the incompetence and corruption ...especially since they became controlled by a hierarchy of business people controlled by Big Pharma, CDC, NIH, WHO...etc. I know you have your work cut out for you and I do appreciate your struggle.
We cannot be blind to the reality of our medical system. The whole covid fiasco was a wakeup call to this...including vaccines, drugs, protocol, intervention and basically hospitals caring about anything but $$$$$$. I have used alternative therapies for over 50 years, and I am very comfortable making my own medical decisions and depending on myself and my knowledge (with God's help) to treat and navigate any physical problem...God has always provided what I needed. I am very blessed...and I can understand not everyone is in the same position and they unfortunately have had to put their trust in people and systems that have let them down. I am so glad you were there for you dad...it is rough, especially for the older population. God bless you and yours...
Thank you. He is way too old to be there by himself. I actually don't do pt care any more, and haven't for about 5 years. I have a nice, low stress, easy, part time little job where I don't have any patients, doctors, or medications. I also don't have to take any more vaccines, ever.
