Yes! I NEVER GAVE IN to that bullshit white, grays and black for home decor. My favorite color is and always has been and will be ORANGE!!! If I want white walls with 50 shades of Gray I’ll go to the hospital aka death camp. No thanks
It is crazy my friend. Our Realtor (we bought our house last year in February) told us that wasn’t the rage anymore. Thank God. But, our home was, you guessed it, Gray Gray Gray moar Gray and man oh man it took me having a lot of “imagination” to see past it. We repainted the entire outside of our home, and have redone most of the interior. It really did as you say affect our mood. Now it’s perfect, so you really just have to “see” it if you’re in the market to buy a home. Takes so much effort though to not be sucked into a downward spiral of negative emotions.
Oh and anyone who paints their brick, well I just won’t go there. Off my soap box now 😂😂
Agree about the brick too. I randomly followed a link a couple of years ago when on FB and found a realty ad for the house my sister had lived in for a couple of decades for sale. She lived there in the 80's-90's and has now passed. It had been totally redone inside and greyed to the max. Just a tiny ranch with not particularly good construction. Interesting to see all the changes made but sure wouldn't want to live there.
My sister had her brick fireplace painted white. I wanted to gag. Worse than painting brick though, is painting stone veneer. Ugh. Many houses in our neighborhood have stone veneer on at least a small section, and several houses that have been remodeled lately have either removed the stone, or painted it the same color as the house. We did the opposite when we redid our house...we put a whole bunch of natural stone on.
You’re so right honey I tell you what. There’s nothing more phony than fake stone that stuff is sooooo ugly. And I just don’t get never will understand painted brick. At all. I’ve seen many homes where the before pics were beautiful compared to the sick cringe inducing 🤮 after pictures. I’ve turned down showings on what would have been an otherwise suitable home for us to buy. Ya ruined it buddy!! Sheesh

I was astounded when gray became trendy. Colors effect our moods. How can people do that to themselves and their families?
