If nothing else, there is a whole lot of speculation that one or both children - and I'm with you as to whether they actually exist - were born using surrogates or gestational carriers. That's a no-go for royal children.
The rules state that such children must be "heirs of the body," meaning they have to be the natural bio kids of both parents (and the parents have to be married at time of conception.)
If those kids were born using surrogates or carriers, they cannot be in the Line of Succession for the throane for that reason. (Harry is currently #6 in line. HIs kids would be 7 and 8.)
If he and Miss Meghan are found to be lying about the circumstances of their birth, and thereby trying to manipulate the Line of Succession of the British Royal Family - well, this movie is getting good. It might be the second feature, but it's still good.
IIRC, there was chatter that Charles was going to require Harry to take a dna test to verify Charles' paternity. Was this total bullocks? Or was this true? And, if it was true, what's the status of it?
I'm sure that was quietly done long ago. Harry's a redhead due to recessive genes, not from being illegitimate. Diana's sister has a son who looks just like Harry.
Diana did not meet James Hewitt, the purported redheaded father, until long after Harry's birth.
I really don't think Diana would have been so crazy as to pass off a bastard child on the royal family. She actually had a lot of respect for the institution itself and its ancient traditions - as an Englishwoman, no reason why she shouldn't - and just would not have pulled a huge stunt like that.
Besides, Hewitt seemed to be fairly quick and smart and Harry is - just like weak and feckless Charles when it comes to that.
