I feel it’s important to explain to you all what happened to me these past few days. I’ve only taken the horsey-paste a couple times. I took it because I’ve eaten some pretty weird stuff while traveling the world on business. Also, because I'm a bug magnet. Biting flies, mosquitos, ticks, you name it, they will find me. It’s like the insects hear a dinner bell and swarm me when I step outside. It’s a running joke in my family to invite me to activities so nobody else gets bitten. I've had many tick bites over the years with minor skin reactions but no Lyme tests or official diagnosis.
🟢 My first Ivermectin dose was last summer – Took the proper dosage based on my weight and didn't notice any changes immediately. A couple weeks later I came to the realization that I no longer get debilitating migraine headaches when I don't have food in my system. I can now go 14 - 16 hours without food and not even a hint of a headache. I normally have a large appetite despite having a below average BMI for my age. I'm now wondering if the previous hunger migraines were parasites dying off due to a lack of sugar and carbs. 🤷♂️ I’ve never tried fasting before and simply couldn’t understand how other people could do it without suffering migraines, dizziness, jitters and weakness like me. It appears that fasting truly is a way to cleanse your system, I just never dared to attempt it.
🟢 Second Ivermectin dose was last Thursday (Mar 9th) - No immediate reaction but that evening I had jitters like I had drank too much coffee even though I had none. Jitters turned into tingling in my arms and pressure / pain in my chest. Small headache in the back of my head that would occasionally send a shooting pain down my neck. This may have set off a mental panic reaction (thoughts of stroke / heart attack) as my pulse was a little high (maxed at around 100) but oxygen levels were fine. I couldn't sleep since the jitters kept waking me up. I thought about calling 911 several times but stuck it out since I don't trust hospitals either. Monday night the symptoms worsened to include dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea and hyperventilation. I truly thought this could be the end for me and that I would miss the Great Awakening with my wife and kids. Thank God I was able to go see my Dr on Tuesday. They ran an EKG, checked Blood Pressure and listened to heart and lungs. All perfectly normal results! I even did an anxiety test and scored really low since I’m always a pretty chill guy. Other than occasional dizziness, all the other symptoms have disappeared.
This episode has me wondering; was this second batch of IVM reacting to other parasites I had? Possibly it attacked an undiagnosed case of Lyme Disease and I had a brutal "Herxheimer Reaction”? Many of the symptoms listed here are a match. Another helpful link - Here.
TLDR: Please beware of possible Herxheimer reactions when parasites are killed off in your body. My experience was pretty scary, and I don’t want any Frens to provoke a heart attack or stroke.
Hat tip to u/20-guage for your knowledge and support.
First of all...I have taken ivermectin twice week for about a year...I have recently cut down to once a week. Also, my daughter had Lyme disease in the 90's...my guess is you did NOT have an undiagnosed case of Lyme disease...there are some unmistakable symptoms that you can't miss.
You are asking some things that truly can't be known without some testing. Your first dose of ivermectin eliminated migraine headaches...that is some fantastic results...who knows. Migraine headaches can be caused by MANY things so the cause and effect of all that really can't be known. It sounds like you have some instability with you blood sugar if you were having problems being able to go long periods without food. I do intermittent fasting and only drink water for about 16 hours and eat within an 8 hour window...with no problem.
When you had your second dose of ivermectin and you had a series of symtoms...did you check your blood pressure? I had an unexpected high blood pressure episode that seemed very similar to what you are describing...including wondering if I should go to the ER...I have no idea what brought the BP surge on...
I personally don't think you were having a herxheimer effect from one dose of ivermectin...even if it did kill some parasites. It is good but not that good...also if you use ivermectin as part of a parasite cleanse there is a specific protocol you need to follow that includes the different life cycle stages of the parasites.
Like I said my daughter had Lyme disease so I am very aware of the herxheimer effect and how to avoid it...especially when detoxing or cleansing...
I think your second reaction was a one off of something unknown. If I were you I would read and become educated on some of the topics you are throwing out...knowledge is power...
Good luck and God bless you...
Thanks for the tips. I probably could've hydrated better so I'll be sure to do so in the future.
I should've check my BP during the episodes but I'm normally below 160 and never needed meds. Using the cuff certainly would've alarmed my wife and I was trying to avoid that.
Thanks Fren. God bless you also.
Do you know dehydration can cause elevated BP...and 160 is kinda high...hydration is very important...when I had that episode I used many things to bring it down...but it was scary as heck..over 200...look into beets to lower BP as well as the essential oil ylang ylang.
You are a wealth of knowledge Tweety!
Thank you. I tend to gulp a drink down and forget to have more regularly during the day. I'll check my BP both before and after the next time I get dehydrated to observe how it effects me.
I appreciate the tips!
Yeah...thanks...and read...become knowledgeable enough to be your own doctor...it is VERY rewarding...I am 71 and on no medications...feel better than I did 10-15 yeas ago...and just got a clean bill of health...protecting your health is one of the most important lifelong endeavors you can ever do for yourself... God bless you and yours...
