When I was very young a kid on my street got chickenpox. Instead of everyone freaking out and everyone hiding in their basements all the moms on the street decided to have a chickenpox party. As far as I know all the kids including myself got it and recovered quickly. From that point on we were all immune.

I was too young to remember and it never came up until I asked my mom later in life why I had a small scar over my eyebrow. She told me all about the party and everyone having chickenpox at the same time so nobody had to worry about it later. She said that I was scratching myself all over from the itching and was digging in a little too deep. She then said she put mittens on me until the infection was gone to keep me from doing more harm.

She acted like it was not uncommon to have a chickenpox party back in the day.

Chicken pox infection = deficient in vitamin A.

Spouse got it in his 30's. He thought he was dying. When the doctor told him what it was he was surprised because he thought he had it as a kid, so either he didn't, or the case he had as a kid wasn't severe. According to my mom I got it when I was around 18 months old so I can't compare my experience to his. I do remember my mom telling me I had to have mittens on to prevent scratching so much. I had heard of chickenpox parties, but could you imagine the reaction of people nowadays if you suggested something like that now? The horror! 😆

I never was vaxxed until 13 years of age when it became mandatory in my school district. I had the following diseases since birth (meningitis at 7 days old) chicken pox, measles, scarlet fever, and numerous flus. I survived all but I do remember being very very sick with scarlet fever and thinking I would die. But other than that disease most were mild. After my first “innoculation” of mmr and tetanus I developed diabetes and at puberty it was determined I had endometriosis. I’m convinced these were both from the jabs. Nursing school I had to receive 7 shots in one day and payed in bed for nearly 2 weeks thinking I would die and became so sick I was hospitalized for encephalitis. All of my nephews were given ALL their injections and ALL are either diagnosed with Ausbergers or Autism. I researched for years how vaccines were made, what is contained in them and how many complications are arising from them and when I became pregnant after 7 unsuccessful years of trying (praise be God) I immediately denied any “innoculations” for my child. That child is now 11 and is thriving and super healthy, she has never had any of these “childhood” diseases, has maybe had some flus, common colds, and she made coof look like it was a walk in the park on a sunny day with rainbows and happy little birds everywhere. All other children I have had same thing. Their peers are not so lucky, multiple health issues including obesity despite activity and constantly having behavior issues. On another note I breastfed all my babies until 3 years of age when their own bodies start making antibodies. Tough on me but a lifetime of immunity for them

I didn't get chicken pox until I was 18 years old. Then yeah, it pretty much messed up my dating life!

I had it at about 8 and gave it to my father, who was about 33.

Our oldest son never had a chickenpox outbreak, though he had multiple exposures. When he was 15 and at the doctor for some other reason, I requested that his blood be checked for c-pox titer, as the infection can cause more problems in teens/adults. Doc wanted to give him the vaccine, but I held my ground. Turns out, he had a positive titer, so he likely had a sub-clinical case. He had shingles last year (at age 39) which pretty much confirms that he had c-pox in the past.
