To whom…… and WHY did they specifically sell those locations?
What went on at Black Forest?
To Cord Prinzhorn.
"Over the past century, world events have buffeted Langau and its ownership. Nazis confiscated the land in Lower Austria from the Rothschilds during WWII, during which the family’s homes and palaces in the area were destroyed, according to the Rothschild archives.
Langau, the size of which is one square mile smaller than Manhattan, was kept in the family though Russian occupation, which meant they could not access the property until 1952."
Found this little tangent as well to pair with my Fiddler dig:
"When Tevye the dairyman sings “If I Were a Rich Man” in Fiddler on the Roof, he is channeling a 1902 Sholem Aleichem Yiddish monologue: Venn ich bin a Rothschild — “If I were a Rothschild.”"
There are apparently two power plants on the property and some water sources originate there.
This site speculates it was planned that the area would be destroyed when they started WW3.

"Prinzhorn’s own family business started with a small paper mill in Pitten, about an hour south of Vienna, in 1853. His father built the company into a European player after taking over in the 1970s. Prinzhorn became CEO in 2013, and Prinzhorn Holding now reports annual sales of 1.4 billion euros across packaging and recycling businesses.
Prinzhorn said he sees the forest as a long-term source of raw material for his companies, but he also wants to preserve the historic buildings and tend the forests for animals and for people hiking, fishing or just enjoying the outdoors. He’s also investing in renewable energy from hydropower plants on the land."
Can't say any of this resonates too much with me as being significant, at least not yet.
