Ive been saying similar here forever. Anyone who is old enough to remember fallout shelters everywhere and nuclear drills in school or the 'Evil Empire" rhetoric of Reagan, has had this Russia is evil narrative drummed into their head for their entire life. I have a hard core Patriot buddy thats ready to take out the deep state single handedly that is still of this mindset. Of course he came of age in the late 70s.

Its really difficult getting it through to them that it was the Soviet Union and not Russia or that there is even a difference between the two. Unfortunately our history classes never taught us about the help we received from Russia during the Revolution and Civil wars.
