Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
everything i've seen is that dogs just take on their peoples' personalities, so maybe it's that poodle people are like that.
I used to know a girl who would.... Nevermind
I will say this, all behavioral issues regarding animals, are definitely a reflection of the owner. A good dog trainer will tell you that. It’s always the owners. However, personality types differ between each animal. Every single pet that I take care of, has its own personality just like people. I find it very intriguing.
Well, I would like to say that, however, this couple that I pet sit for, they have two other dogs that are nothing like that. Not even remotely close. The poodle overwhelmed the other two dogs as well, it’s kind of sad.
There was a time when poodles were working/swimming dogs, the standard poodle shave pattern was prevent them getting weighed down by wet fur.... Then the AKC came along which led to breeding dogs with traits that natural selection would have removed from the gene pool, and much like their dog show owners they concentrated many of the most un-survivable traits that darwinism would have weeded out long ago....crazy being high on the list.
Makes perfect sense. A lot of dog breeds have been so screwed up. But I have actually watched a few shows in regards to dog breeding, throughout the years it’s really very interesting topic
yeah i can see that, little dogs usually are overly aggressive all on their own. Like big ones are more easy going.
and if they're rescues all bets are off.
