Up in Northern states. I was bit by a mosquito that I have never seen. This mosquito was black and hairy. It bit me on the arm and I killed it. Holy crap my arm swelled up so much the skin slit open. It was the size of a baseball and lasted for weeks. This was the worst mosquito bite I ever had. So yes I think new species of mosquitos are being released.
