Better, imagine that the never-identified "they" are simply showing us images that are taken under different circumstances, camera settings, and lighting conditions---and letting our own paranoia concoct stupid delusions of dead originals and clone copycats. We let them make their own mistakes to their detriment. No reason it doesn't work in reverse. We are so needful to have a fantastic conspiracy to discover. We don't need to know anything real. We can make up reality in our minds alone. This is the culture of an insane asylum, not a scientific enterprise.
