I babysat a thalidomide baby with missing limbs when I was 12 or 13. It was so very sad to see. I often wondered what happened to that infant and how he would be able to live that way.

He was still very young less than 6 mos. And he was already asleep for the night when I came. I went to check in on him and saw he had no arms (probably no legs too) but I didn’t look.

When they came home I told his parents I had gone in to check on him to make sure he was ok. And being a curious person I had to ask his parents what happened to him and they told me it was from Thalidomide his mom took when pregnant.
