Holy crap! The synopsis alone makes Illuminatus Trilogy seem like a Dick and Jane primer.

The Illuminati books messed with my head for years, although I believe they did help me wake up early (WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED) and now I see the Fnords, but you're right, the plot summary for this book is downright mental trauma inducing.
