I like the idea. But how do you tell the difference between your own conscience speaking and the Holy Spirit?
Be Silent Be Still
Be silent, be still and listen for his voice
He speaks in many ways When we’re not making noise
Perhaps through a dream Or a gesture or letter from a friend
Maybe in our circumstance But we just can’t pretend Not to hear, listen dear
You might feel it in a tug That pulls upon your heart
In the dead of night When you’re alone in the dark When sleep won’t come And your mind won’t stop
When he draws you to his word At the most random time
When you feel like you’ve been given The biggest task on the block
Or you might receive a warning Of a place you shouldn’t go Or something not to do
He’s there in the still and quiet When you’re not making noise
Will you sit still and listen Because you have the choice
Are you wholly in his word Spending time upon your knees
Cause that’s when you’ll realize That he’s in the in between
He has a higher calling And he calls upon his own
When things aren’t making sense And you’re on the longest trek
He’s got the road mapped out And the way planned ahead
So be silent and be still And listen for his voice
I am in fervent prayer and in God’s word the Bible as a constant
You just know.
Mmmk
Sounds like hubris to me. "Hey, God spoke to me last night..." (but I forget what He said).
Sorry you need to make fun but he does indeed talk to you,
James 1:5-8 5Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
