Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment

Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I posted here over six weeks ago asking for prayer request. Thank you to everyone, I truly appreciate you. I'm still healing but getting back to normal. Long story short, I had sepsis from a blocked kidney and almost died. Two weeks ago I had surgery to remove huge kidney stone and two days later surgery to remove appendix. I never imagined how painful the appendix surgery would be. I'm just like most here, don't trust the medical community. I didn't have much choice. It hit me in the morning and by mid afternoon I was the emergency room. Flown to a bigger hospital and that's when we found out how serious it was. I've gotta admit I was pleasantly shocked with the hospital staff and the continued care after hospital. I'm not fooled! I know they aren't interested in curing cancer and just see us as money trees. I didn't most of the unnecessary medication they prescribed when I was discharged. I was so happy to get back home and on my herbs. Bottom line if you know in your heart something is wrong go seek help but make sure somebody is with you to oversee what's happening. I knew something wasn't right. I've had chronic pain twenty five years and nothing I did at home was stopping my back pain. I started throwing up around 9AM and at 3:30 told my husband we were going to the ER. About 1AM I was flown to the larger hospital. I'm very thankful and blessed.
So happy you’re back Moody Blue. I was thinking about you the other day and whispered a prayer for you🙏🏻
SuzyeQ you are so kind🥰 I've thought about you and so many others here. The general chat is a wonderful place and I've missed everyone. I've popped in about once a week to get the top headlines. I wasn't up to posting. I appreciate your prayers. My Aunt in law put me on a prayer list with her church and others have been praying. Prayer is an amazing thing!
Yes it is a powerful thing. I believe it was Sunday afternoon and I was getting dressed to go to my Mothers house. The Lord spoke to me and said to whisper a prayer for you, so I did. I’m so happy you are doing better. ❤️
I'm always amazed when I hear something like this. I hope to have this kind of connection with God. Blessings to you and thanks
Thanks for sharing this story. I'm glad she survived. That sounds like a horrible experience. Thankfully she got help before it was too late. My appendix was enlarged and it was discovered by C-scan when I was in the ER. They thought it was Mucocele of the appendix. We have a family friend in his 70s that's was a primary doctor and he's never seen anyone with one. Because of this I was referred to a cancer surgeon. I didn't think I had cancer. Can't say why, just a gut feeling. Can't say I didn't pray a lot about it. Pathology came back clear. MRI showed gallstones. They didn't remove gallbladder because laparoscopic was successful. So far no problems.
Thanks I'm also glad I survived!
Thank goodness you are better! In medical emergencies, there are doctors and nurses and treatments that have been proven to be necessary, and thank God they are available aand you got there in time. Sepsis is sneaky and very dangerous. I hope for you a restful recovery. I hope you can manage your pain.
Thanks so much. I didn't realize how common sepsis can be. Through out this process (dr visits) I've talked with a few people who have gone through sepsis and being near death. It's scary we can have a ticking time bomb and not have a clue.
I’m so grateful you’re alive! I had sepsis, and c-diff about 10 years ago, and I almost died. It’s a miracle you’re still alive! Just remember God has a plan for your life, and now more than ever you should be seeking his face and asking what it is he wants you to do?
Congrats on getting home safely, and back on your own herbs and supplements. My prayers are that you all have a full recovery in a complete healing from this experience. God bless you and have a great day.
Well I'm glad you made it also. He must have a plan for you as well. I've been thinking about this a lot. One thing that has driven me to get better is my first granddaughter. That night in the ER before emergency surgery I told the doctor I had a new grandchild and don't mess up! I think that's the hardest I've ever prayed. Thanks for your prayers and blessings.
