Prosecutors reportedly asked the judge to hold the Trump trial in January 2024, which would interfere in the Republican presidential primary.

Braggs being pulled in multiple direction by multiple factions. If you remember two of his lawyers quit in February 2022 because he was unsure they had a case. Both lawyers were very rabid anti Trump.

This week Special Counsel Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz - who had been leading the probe begun by former District Attorney Cyrus Vance - resigned. The New York Times reported they left after Bragg indicated to them he had doubts about pursuing a case against Trump.

It was at this point I thought they were done but it may have been more of a threatening wake up call for Bragg than anything.

Alvin Bragg is nothing but an inanimate frontman, unable to effect events, unable to stop them.
