The purpose of this theatre is not to convict President Trump and jail him. The purpose is to saddle him with a tedious legal battle in the months leading up to the primary season in the hopes of slowing President Trump's momentum. This will ultimately fail, which is why its so incredibly fun to watch this all play out.
Or the purpose of the indictment is to set up precedents for the indictment off all persons falling into the category of "former President" or "Former Vice President" or "Former govt official"....
One has to wonder how in fact Bragg was induced to go ahead with this very, very bad idea.
Im a big fan of Barnes but he doesn't have his facts straight here. the charges stem from business dealings prior to Trump taking office. They are past the statute of limitations as misdemeanors thus had to be upgraded to the felony level to even bring the charges.
Barnes is incorrect. The actions were prior to the election. 2nd..the Constitution does NOT say what he says. The Constitution says nothing about a criminal indictment being held hostage by impeachment or Senate conviction.
Why is it taking so long - December 2023 - before trial starts? I understand empaneling a jury and discovery but this seems really excessive and unfair to the defendant.

Precedents....
Plus the Democrats ignore the rules of marketing, and are providing massive free PR for Trump during his campaign.

Either way Barnes got it all wrong. That was my main point
Of course this would be ruled by the Court, and it would take maybe a higher court, one after another, you, know, well after 'The Election'.
the Senate has never voted to impeach any POTUS. this hole shit show calls for more popcorn

These cases are to give all media talking points against Trump during election cycle. Keep him busy fighting defensively instead of offensively.
I'm waiting for the judge's order stating that Trump isn't allowed to specifically say "my fellow Americans, the storm is upon us" 😂

They want the headlines to hit during the GOP primary, which they hope will make Turmp impossible to put on the ticket.
Yes, I get that but doesnt the defendant have a right t o a speedy trial unless he waives that right?
