Any Ideas why they would do this, Anons?
There was no public notification of this action, I personally know the people who were ordered to retrieve the filing cabinet. I am not a lawyer, so I am unsure what this could really mean. I am guessing someone(s) is looking for old cases to use against political opposition. Much like what has been done to Trump. Since this kind of thing is apparently perfectly fine to do in the US now...
Need some context. Are you in a library, office, courthouse?
I don't know where "cold" storage was, but it was not accessible to the public and buried under lots of other stuff, I was told.
The filing cabinet was pulled out, dusted off, loaded in a truck and was brought to our town hall offices. It is now in a room next to the town clerk, where other (current) public documents are filed.
What town???
A small city in New England.
I can't say exactly where, I do not want to get my contacts in trouble.
Who ordered it done?
The Mayor. That is what I was told, but I can not %100 confirm that.
I will ask my contact later WHERE the cabinet was stored. I think it was across town in a blank building where they store junk.
