I watched the motorcade from Trump Tower to the courthouse. Supposedly they cleared traffic and blocked roads, but when they started out there was moving traffic on the other side of the road, people crossing the street, and parked cars everywhere. At one intersection the lead car had to swerve around a pedestrian in a crosswalk because the cops standing there didn't stop the person from crossing. It got better once they got on the highway, but in town I was really worried.
I think they were going to try something but called it off for some unknown reason at the last minute. There were full-sized city buses in the opposite lane only separated by the yellow line in the middle. Think about that accident in Georgia a while back when was it the Governor's sons girlfriend or whoever was killed when a car on the other side of the road mysteriously ran head-on into their car...
Movies are great and all, but occasionally people stumble onto the set that aren't in the movie. White Hats may be able to control a lot but they can't control everything every time. It only takes one time for a crazy to get lucky. It doesn't have to be the DS that attacks Trump - any idiot could try as well.
That motorcade was sloppy. It made me think the people involved in planning are comped. Think about it... The start and ending of the motorcade were known, the route was published, the time he had to be at court was known, and the vast majority of NYPD were at the courthouse. TV networks covered it so everyone knew when it started and where they were. Anything could have happened and it would be very hard to get a good police presence on the scene.
You are right about the .50 cal though. I can't believe they don't have an underground private entrance that the limo could have driven into so the President was protected. Just crazy.

I think we dodged a bullet and I'm not sure why.
There was no bullet dodged. “Their” apparatus to assassinate Trump has been long since removed.
YOU ARE WATCHING A MOVIE!
Trump walks from the motorcade to the entrance of Trump Tower and not one single .50 Cal bullet was fired from a mile away.
