To be fair every religion on earth except one declines to consider Jesus a deity
Not saying they're right, just that it's the majority
I would love to be able to go back in time and find out if Jesus himself ever actually called himself a deity, or if he was too humble for that.
Siddhartha Gotama near his death specifically directed his followers NOT to be like Hindus, NOT to make him into a deity, not to make another manmade "religion" out of his spiritual teachings...so, no sooner does he draw his last breath than his followers immediately create a religion out of him. Now there are nearly half a billion adherents and a bunch of disparate sects of Buddhism, same as with the other "religions".
