I was thinking that, at least for some masks, the eyes might be more recessed than one would expect. These masks, however, don't seem like that. I need to look again at the comparisons that zipped by at the beginning. Good post.
Edit: Most of the comparisons go by too fast but I think that the eye areas are a pretty good tell.
If realistic mask technology exists and is being used, it's different from what is in this video. These rely on polymers that do not accurately reproduce the translucence of human skin. Other gaps include the articulation of face mechanics and connection to eyelids. This technology has a long way to go.
