Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment

Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)

If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
DEVOUT CHRISTIANS i need your input-
how many of you believe that Man is inherently evil?
I don't and this has prevented me from being more involved in a church because this view is so common.
I think that's why I've felt so comfortable with Q from the start-
https://qalerts.app/?q=humanity+is+good
whatever you believe, may God bless you regardless.
Man was created good and perfect. He was created with various appetites or inclinations, such as the desiderative. which leads to desire, and others. When he sinned in the Garden of Eden, he sinned by using these appetites in the wrong way. This resulted in expulsion from the Garden. All men born after this have these same inclinations, and when they are misused, sin occurs. But man is not evil until he allows himself to sin and continues in sin. So, fren, if a church says that man is inherently evil, they aren't explaining it properly. Man can be either good or evil.
We have free will, and temptation is real, but it's always our choice to be what we want.
Man isn't evil, but it is ignorant and powerful and free.
Savour the moment, a man is what he does.
Inherently? No, but very capable of it.
First, I believe we are born in God's image and he's not evil! Just like a parent should be he's firm and doesn't want bad or evil behavior. I believe everyone is born innocent, not knowing or having the bad behavior in them. It's how we are influenced from birth that shapes how we turn out, evil or good. Even if you aren't religious, following any faith most people know right from wrong. You can say you don't but I wouldn't believe you. Only someone with a mental disorder would be the exception. As far as evil, I think some people choose to be evil because it's fun and easier than following rules. Most people like this usually start down the wrong path as teenagers due to who influenced them. In the past thirty years there's many influences other than parents or care giver. So many kids or young teens play violent video games that's way worse than any TV or movie I've ever seen, and I watch a lot of TV. However I watch violet movies/TV and am not evil. Things like Walking Dead, historical movies with fighting and war, etc might influence weaker people that haven't been exposed to good people. Hard to explain what I'm thinking on this subject, watching TV. I didn't grow up watching anything like this other than 70s westerns. I never shot a gun (except BB gun) till I was in my twenties. Even though I grew up in the south where hunting and guns are very common. I never had the desire. I was raised in church and have good influences of wrong and right. This is not an easy question to answer! So many children don't have a solid upbringing but that doesn't make all people evil.
Only wamans is inherently evil.
Adam was doing alright for himself until that fateful day God removed his rib.
i've taken many a dv for my sense of humor, hats off to you.

I think the "original sin" is a very twisted interpretation somewhere along the way with all the versions of the BIble. I am truly interested in understanding the correct interpretation. I think it has to do with accepting the responsibility of knowledge, but thats just a simple interpretation.
Also, I know everyone believes Jesus died to tone for the sins of humans, but I think the interpretation of that is also different.
We all know Jesus was crucified exactly because he exposed the money lenders in the temple - the root of all evil (even in our time, its the same Banksters).
We also know the only reason money can destroy humanity is because of our weaknesses - like greed.
So Jesus died to expose the evil of the money and our own inherent flaw in keep falling for the same evil again and again.
Its ironic that by twisting this into "died for the sin of man" without retaining the context, the message has been lost.
Still trying to wrap my head around all this but thanks fren. The part about the moneylenders is clear though, I'm embarrassed that I didn't know about that despite years of Sunday school.
Yep some secrets are really well kept. Imagine the systemic nature of this kind of censorship and what it takes to maintain it.
Incidentally, this is what Mel Gibson exposed in passion of the Christ and got cancelled for.
