It really is strange how she puts it in life and death terms and I'm glad OP linked it.

If the stakes are that high why wouldn't NYT just pay it and validate their staff? They paid millions for Wordle. They pay millions to get their people access to Davos.

It feels like they're fighting over something other than what they claim to be fighting over...
