Somewhat off track but this wireless discussion has me asking.
Is this different to our current wi fi?
Others claim our current wi fi / Bluetooth is bad.
I was actually looking at building a business here (f all for kids to do) but the product seems heavily wi fi based which has me worried.
Excellent question. Game it out and this will be sticking point with many if there's not a cohesive 😆 and compelling story that cuts through all logic and reason. Gonna be mystical I bet.
Tesla was under the impression that the atmosphere was electrically conductive. It is, in fact, an insulator. His wireless power experiments went nowhere.
WiFi is for sending information, not power. Most WiFi routers output 1 Watt of power, just enough to get the signal across.
Electrical power can be sent wirelessly, it just takes specialized equipment. Such transmission loses power exponentially with increased distance, as all EM radiation does.
You can send low power over long distances (radio), or high power over small distances (your phone’s inductance charger). High power over long distances falls into the above constraints.
High power over long distances describes large laser weapons. But there is no practical way of converting that power to electricity (and it is not very efficient in any case).
