This interview took place on April 1, 2023. I highly recommend listening to the entire podcast, but in the first 10 minutes Tucker explains why he built his studio based on the first time he saw Adam’s podcast studio in Glendale, CA back in 2017.
There are older interviews that the topic also comes up - pre covid.
People need to understand that Adam Carolla was an early adopter - and a pioneer in a way - of podcasting shortly after being fired from his Los Angeles radio gig at KLSX. For years he had the number one most listened to podcast on all the streaming platforms.
I do believe Tucker was aware he was going to be fired - or at least that the writing was on the wall and that the end was soon coming - hence, him taking inspiration from Adam to set up his own shop even years prior to his recent firing.
They were stressing - especially Tucker was - that humans need way more interaction with nature to be creative. So, Tucker builds a studio that has more wood and natural elements vs. studios he’s used to working in that are sterile and boring the antithesis of creativity.
Interesting, if you listen closely, shortly before the “wood and wool” comment (starting around the 00:07:30 mark) Tucker is talking about how the HR department (aka FOX) were telling him what he could and couldn’t talk about during his nightly shows. He frustratingly says “I’m an adult man, I’m 53 I think I can say what I want” in regards to the powers that be at FOX essentially censoring him.
I’m positive that there was something brewing behind the scenes. FOX probably gave Tucker a list of “don’t say this or else” and Tucker pushed the boundaries the day he was let go.
This Carolla interview is way more meaningful after the fact.
No problem. And Adam’s KLSX gig was a morning show that was syndicated nationally - this was after he had left “Loveline” with Dr. Drew. Drew and Adam are still close friends to this day but when Adam left it was over a financial disagreement with the owners of Loveline.

Afterthough... Do you assign any significance to the reference to "Wood and wool" which they explicitly revisited before moving on?
