Yep to any ungrateful woman who says "chivalry is dead" just for not holding a door for her point out that 1) Chivalry is mostly a code of combat and 2) the parts pertaining to women carried the price of the woman being obedient to her man.
It's hard to hold doors for women - one has to judge beforehand if the participant will get offended by it - usually the ones wearing normal make-up, or none at all, with natural colored hair, appreciate it. But the spiteful mutants, with noserings will start yelling at one.
The feminists took particular exception to the obedience part. They painted it as women are expected to be barefoot and pregnant, in the kitchen.
It is my hypothesis that the language has changed. I believe that a woman has to manage the man in a relationship. This includes giving them enough responsibility to gain respect for themselves. The traditional Obedience is not a slavery situation, in my opinion. It is more like unconditional love and support - which women happen to be very good at.
