I'm no economist, but there's got to be some serious implications of doing this. It's got to add fuel to the inflation fire and further undermine the USD as the world's reserve currency.

This fucking shit again. The US traleasury is allowed to mint coins in any denomination, now if they wanted to they could pay off the debt with it. Let's say 100, trillion dollar coins were minted; as long as it's not put into circulation it will not effect the current flow and rate of things. Now I know we all don't like politicians so it should be a last resort kind of tactic to save the country. But it would actually help stabilize the USA but fuck up the world - which I'm okay with. Mainly because it would pay back the local debt holder such as defense contractors and bond holders which would stimulate the economy. However it's making sure no foreign entities try to come in and buy up our country after the fact. But this idea only comes up when dems are in charge knowing they will fuck everything up even this implementation of a trillion dollar coin
Those coins would be worth a lot of money.
