Dear frens, I am feeling compelled and led by the spirit of Christ to send out an SOS for a patient I see regularly.
Without giving specifics, he is in a really, really bad place. He served for many years during Bush/Clinton/Obama era in the Middle East and obviously has some really horrible experiences.
Please pray for release from the horror he saw. Name him as Patriot X. Our good Lord will know him, and all others in the same spot.
They all need our prayers.
Tell him I said he was lied to and abused and I forgive him. I pray may God comfort and forgive him .
Yes, it know he was lied too, now. But I can’t approach him with that subject. I only see him for a short amount of time before or after a procedure.
I just know he is in extreme distress, and aside from an easy IV start I don’t have much time to offer more.
I really wish I could sit with him a while and chat, but psych issues always make me uneasy. I’m afraid I would say something wrong.
All I can offer is to ask prayer warriors to support him, and all the other service members in the same place.
What has he tried?
There are techniques that teach people how to gain emotional distance from what they have experienced.
EMDR, NLP.
Also tapping.
These guys are good: Mike Mandel Hypnosis.
You don't have to tell anyone what you saw to release the pain of experiencing it.
Can you pass on a flyer to him?
I can vouch for EMDR. One session of it ade my pathway clear for me for understanding and letting go of a horrible inability to process a grief because I felt unworthy of being freed from it.
As a nurse, you are in wonderful position to help this brother. If you’re concerned about saying the wrong thing, then say nothing. From your prayer request, which I found very moving, it’s clear that you have a loving heart - a requirement for any healer. Although it might seem too simple to make any difference, when you are with this patient, simply place your focus on your heart - miracles have occurred thereby. In any case, I will keep Patriot X in my prayers, and you as well.
All are forgiven who ASK God.
