My mother just went to her doc for a regular visit. The doc asked her how the family is doing, so she decided to ask him the same. He made rare direct eye contact with my mom and said "We're okay".
"Oh, did you have a rough time with Covid?" She asked?
Doc: "We all got it, but were okay. But I'll tell you, I am so glad I did not get my kids vaccinated. There are so many people out there suffering right now from it"
Mom: "Oh. My son (my brother) refused to get his kids vaccinated and only got it himself to keep his job. My other son (me) outright refused to get it."
Doc: "Congratulations, your sons are well read. They don't follow the sheep".
I asked her if she was serious and if he had actually used those words. She said yes.
After 2 years of my trying to convince my mother not to get the vax, in vain, this doctor finally nailed the point home to her.
I must say.. it felt damn good to hear it.
Progress.
On another note, all the boomers in my family (all vaxxed) now firmly believe "we" were duped. No offense intended to baby boomers, that just so happens to be who this millennial has been spending most of his time around lately. I know being awake knows no generational boundaries and it has more to do with the person than their age. The ones in my family just so happened to all buy into the brainwashing campaign.
Cheers frens.
Sooooo since when is the generation you are born in = critical thinking skills? I know boomers who are idiots and boomers who I go to for real world advice. My youngest is gen z and is based, my middle is a millennial and he refused the vax. I’m gen x and like to think I have somewhat developed critical thinking skills.
Besides the generalization (and it sounds like you are bitter from being verbally slurred with the vax) GREAT POST
BTW- I am a raging bitch when it comes to the stupid clot shot and anyone trying to tell me what to put into my body. :)
Please don't take the boomer comment the wrong way. I did not intend to generalize at all, it's literally just that the vast majority of the people I've been spending my time with lately are baby boomers and mostly family. This is who I have been speaking with and thus the only group I've really gotten a feel for how their sentiments have changed. I fully understand awakening has NOTHING to do with age. The most brainwashed non-thinking people I know are the Gen Z leftists in my family but I rarely have contact with them so I do not know if they've started to "come around" like my current inner circle of baby boomers lol. Peace.
I guess the boomer label is a sore point for more than a few. It's another divide and conquer meme injected by either witting or unwitting instrument provocateurs. From that perspective, the reaction/response here is understandable, if not exactly logical or based.
You made an effort to emphasize that awakening is not age-defined, and that you were just sharing your experience as per the life you lead. It would be nice if our pedes responded more to what you wrote than to the emotional trigger that's clearly within. By which I mean, the way I read it, nothing was intended as some sort of slur or even a generalization. Rather "hey, this is an aspect of my life, and I'm just sharing it"
Great post, the small turbulence notwithstanding. How awesome to have your moms' doc do some red-pilling in your fam. Thanks for sharing!
No worries fren — none at all! Just a friendly debate
