I can't work out what Prigozhin is doing. We know he is a bit of a flamboyant character but he seems to be quite close to taking Bakhmut so if he pulls out now he will not be able to bask in the glory of winning. Someone else will take the credit. Why would you do that?
Is this his attempt to take the top job away from Putin?
If he is genuinely concerned about his lack of ammunition wouldn't it be better not to broadcast that to the enemy?
Sounds like they are possibly setting a trap for the few remaining Ukrainian forces. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. And as desperate for a victory as the Ukrainians are, they will likely fall for it. Into the meat grinder.
It may be a subtle inducement for the Ukrainian forces to surrender. Prigozhin had publicly sworn to give no quarter after the publicity of the Ukrainians executing a Wagner POW. The Ukrainians then knew they were fighting to the death. Now that the Russian regular army is taking over Bakhmut, the Ukrainians may decide it is the better part of survival to surrender to someone who will accept their surrender.

Is it some devious disinformation strategy?

It's always good to let your enemy think you're weak, then when he tries to take advantage of that, you destroy him. Just wait and see.
