There's evidence that temperature is dictated by CLOUDS created by the sun and solar activity.. When solar activity is high, subatomic particles (cosmic rays) collide with water vapor rising from water sources (like the sea), this causes clouds to be formed, and clouds create a cooling effect on the earth.
