I just don't see any other place in the bible where it suggests that angels can get women pregnant.
It is true that the Bible does not explicitly state that angels can get women pregnant. However, some Christians interpret certain passages in the Bible as suggesting that angels have the ability to take on physical form and interact with human beings in various ways.
For example, Hebrews 13:2, states, "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." This suggests that angels can take on human form and interact with people in a way that is not immediately recognizable.
The story of the angels who went to Sodom in Genesis 19 is another example of angels interacting with humans in physical form. In this story, two angels came to the city of Sodom and were greeted by Lot, who showed them hospitality and offered them a place to stay for the night.
Later in the story, the men of Sodom surrounded Lot's house and demanded that he bring out the angels so that they could have sexual relations with them. This suggests that the men of Sodom believed the angels to be physical beings who were capable of sexual activity.
While these interpretations are not universally accepted among Christians, they do provide some basis for the idea that angels can interact with humans in various ways, including taking on physical form and possibly even having offspring with them.
Yes, I completely agree that Angels and even God can take on human forms.
I understand what you are saying that pretty much anything is possible.
I am just trying to understand concepts without violating scripture.
God created everything. He said let each multiply according to its kind. Gen 1:20
That is my sticking point.
Nowhere in the world do we see different "kinds" producing offspring. That is a big problem for the theory of evolution.
All evidence that is not empirical evidence is just theatrical evidence.
Theatrical evidence uses various starting points to reach a conclusion.
Evolution assumes there is no God as a starting point.
Creation assumes there is a God as a starting point.
Evolution has a "tree" of life where all "kinds" came from.
The Bible states that kinds were created by God, and they are different from each other.
There is no empirical evidence showing kinds reproducing outside of their kind. Empirical evidence points to creation not evolution.
Dogs produce dogs, cats produce cats and so on. Of course, there are many varieties within those kinds.
If we follow the logic that kinds can only produce within its kind, we have a problem with Angels and humans. Unless we assume that Angels and humans are different species within the same kind.
I don't mean to piss people off here.
I just believe the bible is the Word of God. So, when presented with something that challenges my understanding, I question both my understanding and the new challenge.
BTW. I get that certain words within the bible translations may not be completely accurate and there can be misunderstandings.
There is no misunderstanding concerning what "kinds" means.
Excellent points! And I enjoy a healthy dose of “spritual speculation” every now and then, so don’t worry about offending me. Plus I’ve got thick skin and a short term memory!
If we assume this interpretation (that sons of God is referring to fallen angels), one possible explanation for how this could occur is that the angels took on physical bodies or forms in order to have sexual relations with human women.
In some Jewish and Christian traditions, there is a concept known as "angelic incarnation," which suggests that angels are able to take on human form or bodies. This idea is based on certain passages in the Hebrew Bible and New Testament where angels appear in human-like form and interact with humans.
For example, as I mentioned earlier, in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19, two angels appear in human form and visit Lot in order to warn him about the impending destruction of the cities. The men of Sodom DEF thought the “angels” were capable of sexual interaction, for they demanded to sleep with them. Similarly, in the New Testament, the angel Gabriel appears to Mary in the form of a man to announce that she will give birth to Jesus.
If we accept the idea of angelic incarnation, then it is possible that the fallen angels in Genesis 6 took on human form in order to have sexual relations with human women and produce offspring.
And don’t over look Hebrews 13:2 where it states, "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." This suggests that angels can take on human form and interact with people in a way that we don’t even know that they’re not human.
🤷♂️
However they were able to do it, they were able to produce giant offspring.
