No. The “Unrealized Losses” (key word here is ‘unrealized’) are BONDS (Municipal or Fed Govt) that they bought to meet Fractional reserve banking requirements with all the money they were making the last several years. Every single time the Fed raised rates (to ‘fight inflation’) the value of Bonds decreases. Its an inverse relationship. Rates go up, bond values go down … especially bonds issued when rates were almost zero.
So, when banks were free to fuck us all without impunity, they were making piles of money. Eventually all the COVID printing and GREEN NEW STEAL printing caught up to the currency dynamics - Inflation. Now the Bonds they bought, so they could meet the banking requirements/rules, have plummeted in value.
Okay we are now into the 2nd quarter of 2023 and this is coming out now-about the 3rd quarter of 2022? Government at it’s finest, almost 1/2 year too late!
So the banks managed to lose more than 50% of the deposits? I mean.. the deposits are capital, right?

So now they should reduce the interest rates and the problem is gone?
… and if they don’t - whatever comes next is on them.

The main indicators have been manipulated for a while now. At this point you have to look at other data points to truly gauge what is really going on.
