The Civil Court System has become the preferred system for the Commies, it seems to me. Only needs 50.1% "he did it" for the person to be "guilty", and infinite bites at the apple. We can try a person 10000 times for the same "crime".
Somehow we need to stop this. Because this lawfare is the end of the USA.
Yep, and, as you see, the decisions made by these fake courts can be weaponized just the same by the media.
And, the worst of it, is that it is common to be found innocent in criminal court, but then still found liable for damages in civil court... for a crime you've been proven to not have committed. It makes zero sense.
Just an FYI - Defendants are found "guilty" or "not guilty" in US criminal courts. A prosecutor has the burden of proving a defendant's guilt of the charge(s) beyond a reasonable doubt. The defendant refutes the charge(s) brought against him, but he does not have to prove his innocence because, in the US, he already has the presumption of innocence.
The "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard in criminal cases is a higher standard than the less stringent "more likely than not" or "reasonable person" standard in civil cases because of the gravity of wrongly depriving someone of their most precious, guaranteed rights - those of life and liberty/freedom.
Because of the differing standards, some "degree of justice" can be attained in civil court even if a criminal prosecution fails - ex. O.J.
