it was Tom who had to put out "the gate is good" message, indicating they had to fight back.

Is that what it meant?

Nancy Pelosi did a strange speech a few years ago about time.

So I'm wondering if they are time-traveling.

Maybe the gate helps them escape -- like the final piece in one of Madonna's performances about the future.

Not everyone gets to go into the future -- or something.

There was never going to be an escape. Hanks told them "gate was good" but it seems like the gate came down directly on top of him long ago.
