Piling on a little here, from a biochemist (me): most cleaning products can be replaced with simple soap or detergent with minimal ingredients. Make your baby food, that hand blender stick thing is awesome for this, and flavored stews are much better than unflavored mush- meaning, you have no idea how great onions and garlic and herbs are for us. Eat the same clean food that you give your child (pre-mush stage, lol).
NEVER fluoride anything. Never soy anything unless fermented (tofu, soy sauce).
Man this forum is a gold mine! I know fluoride is horrible, that was a byproduct of Nazi Germany experimentation
Edit to add: So how long can you keep homemade baby food in the freezer? Thought about doing some stuff ahead of time but idk what expiration dates look like time frame wise
After researching prepping and freezing etc, baby food and adult food are the same to preserve. My mom does the canning thing, those shelf lives are the same whether it's baby puree or grown-up tomatoes. I've been doing freezing and vacuum sealing, both combined are amazingly effective and fast for dealing with a good trip to the farmer's market. Best bang for the buck was an Aldi vacuum sealer.
So, strawberries are in season, cook some down and blend with veggies or whatever you like, eat dinner now and vacuum-seal some for later, flat pouches can be written on to mark the date, they stack easily in the freezer, maintain their color and flavor very well. We tested peaches a couple years back, and ground meat, both in vacuum bags versus plastic wrap and foil, vacuum bags won hands down.
