Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Yes! The virtue signaling! The status of being ill! The status of the jabs!
I have a life long friend who was wearing masks alone in her car, etc, during covid. Crazed. She's had 4+ jabs and is now very ill with heart problems. Now she suddenly won't talk to me bc I'm unvaxxed and I'm an RN and I should have known better. ???? I love her, so I forgive her irrationality. Covid really did highlight the mental illness of most of the population.
I had people that I never dreamed would take the jab do it. Fear will cause folks to do the unthinkable. It made me reevaluate who would I go into battle with. All the ones that refused and stood strong amidst being cast aside from friends and family, I have to say I admire you, and you are the one I would stand beside on the battlefield. When we are fighting for our lives, there is no time for fear.
I knew when I refused, I was doing something big. As time has gone on, I realize that it was huge and is going to impact the rest of my life and who I am, all positively. I would stand next to you, too, sister.
It breaks my heart of the ones that followed blindly like sheep to the slaughter. However; we all have a choice in this life, and we have to live with it. There are consequences to every choice, good or bad. 🇺🇸
Yeah, but you know what, fren? I'm never going to have side effects from the vaccine. I guess that's a positive consequence of my choice!
And its well past covid here, and I still see people every now and then, wearing masks alone in their car, or walking with a mask on alone in the park. What can you do? They are beyond all help.
I know. That's why I can't even be mad at her for being mad at me. Once she came to my house and pulled up, unmasked. Put the mask on to walk outside to my front door. Came in and took the mask off. I didn't say a word.
