If you watch POTUS Hillary debates he talks about appointing a special council to look in on the Clintonβs. If you watch really close it looks like a movie when the boxer is supposed to go down in the second round but changes the plan mid fight. That happened to POTUS a few times during those debates. He stopped just like Elon did and made a decision.
This reminds me of that. Elon took a deal or said he would play ball and that guy rubbed it in his face. It was an odd question and it definitely pissed him off he was asked.
I liked that he put real effort into answering. Took almost 10 seconds to form his answer. Hard to fake especially phrasing and false starts trying to reach a coherent response. In the end. I'm going to say what I want even if it costs me money.
Bannon was scathing on Elon this morning. "The morals of an 11 year old" when it comes to AI. I don't think this widely shared clip necessarily proves what people want it to prove. To me Elon hesitates considering options of what to say and then looks angry in the end that he has to make the statement. I do not always side with Bannon but I watch him and on this I agree with Steve.

I disagree with that...Hesitation is not necessarily 'considering options'....He's looking for the 'right' answer to the question and not just coming out with the first thought to come into his mind. i bet there are a multitude of different answers he could have come up with...He thought that was the correct and relevant answer to address the Question at hand after 'Hesitating'...
edit: IMO, he was searching his soul for the appropriate answer, not just thinking about what to say...

Going to get more popcorn!
Spot on there my man...π
The point being, both those things help him accomplish his goals. I don't have a problem with Elon's goals at present.
