Sorry man... my mother-in-law was stricken by dementia and fortunately the Good Lord took her early and we avoided the worst of it.
Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law.
Thanks, she was truly a good woman. But like I said, the Lord mercifully took her early and the family was spared the last few years of that disease.
It just sucks. We have 3 living parents - 87, 85 and 83 - all in some stage of dementia. The 85 yo is pretty advanced - she has no idea what is going on but she is pleasant, happy and compliant. The other two are in the mean, confused and verbally combative stage. All of it is hard. We did not envision retiring early so we could deal with this. But, God said to honor your parents. He didn't say we had to like it or that it would be fun.
