Yeah, the US wasn't held to account for some serious war crimes. A lot of deliberate civilian casualties.

My only point that any supposed good that is derived from evil is in fact, not good.

Japan surrendered soon after the Soviets joined in against them. It removed any hope of a brokered peace, and the emperor was the tie breaking vote to pursue peace with the USA.
