I would consider the Reddit community and 4chan and chan adjacents the forefront at the height of it.
Those were not only a place where we had a lot of information, but we were getting a ton of eyes on it. Pizzagate was leaking all over Reddit at that time, and it created a lot of growth and added a lot of eyes to the efforts, and it also changed a lot of minds.
It was actually imperative that Reddit ban Pizzagate, because if they didn't we probably would have taken over the site. Slight hyperbole.
Voat was a difficult transition for a lot of us, and our message wasn't being spread as effectively, since it quickly earned a reputation for racism since for some reason conservatives and leftist agitators both decide to let loose pointless racism that turns eyes away the moment a board has free speech.
Indeed, a few times after we started picking up more effort on Voat, there was a lot of complaining and distractions because the mods of the Pizzagate sub were stricter on that stuff to keep us focused on digging, and that detracted from the movement too.
Truly, I believe Reddit was both the forefront and the frontlines. A lot of good was being done there with Pizzagate. Voat wasn't the same vibe, I actually preferred 4chan at that point.
I was getting very pissed off with Reddit around 2014 and started looking for other sites such as Mastodon and Whoiverse.
Whoiverse was bad, a lot of peckerheads talking about Hitler and Zyklon B and not much more. But then it became Voat , interesting watching the new niggerfaggots from Reddit settling in.
Voat didn't start out at the forefront.
