Counterpoint: We want to make jokes, but we know we suck at doing so.

God knows I am. I love making people laugh, but I don't have a microliter of comedic talent in my soul. 99% of my jokes fall completely flat. So I don't bother.

And yes, I know I should have used freedom units. I needed something lighter than "ounce."

I mess up the punch line because I start laughing before I can deliver it.

Laughing at your own jokes is kinda pathetic. But at least one person laughs!
