I am sure they know they truth. It may even be in some of the redacted passages.

Their job in this case may be to report on that and/or other facts while aiding the cover ups (which often seems to be their primary mission - cover ups and political attacks)

While watching, I intuited that one of the interviewees may have been the B.O.
