I wasn't locked down and I live in a radical left blue state. I just ignored it all. Like you said, THE PEOPLE wouldn't accept ending the lockdown until there was a vaccine. Although I would argue it was the Fauci/pharma/media complex who actually wanted the vaccine. Lockdowns existed largely because people complied. It all would have ended had enough people refused to wear a mask, isolate and all the other nonsense. I know this is true because I have a neighbor who is high up in our state CDC who told me our state wanted to go full draconian, but there was too much resistance. The tyrants knew exactly what they could get away with and proceeded accordingly. The lockdowns were self-imposed by those who chose to live in fear.
I don't accept for a minute that we would have been locked down for five years without a vaccine. There is no way they could have kept up the scam that long. It only lasted as long as it did because there was a vaccine coming and people could see the end. If there hadn't been a vaccine in sight for five years, most people would have said "yeah, eff this BS, I'm getting back to my life" within months.
I agree that locking us down for up to ten years would have been difficult, but about 25% of people I see are still wearing masks, and that’s after three to five “vaccines” they’ve injected. It sounds crazy, but how would those people be acting today if there wasn’t any vaccine yet? We could still be under mask mandates and forced business closures.
I also agree that lockdowns were somewhat self-imposed, and yeah, if you wanted to take a walk around the block then you mostly could. But even for those of us who weren’t worried about Covid, our lives were affected by all the people who were. Yes a person was sort of able to go about their business as normal, but not totally. If your boss was a Covidian, then your work was closed whether you were afraid or not. If you were a cook or a waitress, restaurants were closed. If you were a musician, shows were cancelled. Venues were closed. That’s why I say as much as you resisted the fear, if half the population decides to be hysterical, it’s enough to make your society hysterical, even if the other half of people are calling bullshit.
