I certainly believe that the government has hangars full of crashed or captured UFOs, and has had them for a long time.

The only question in my mind is, why is this confirmation coming out now?

What does the Deep State gain? Are they working up to a False Flag "alien invasion?"

This is like the claim that we have live dinosaurs in captivity. Repetition of an old narrative is not "confirmation." Publishing the technical reports in unclassified format would be a good start. Putting the supposed wreckage in a public museum would also be useful, allowing any artifacts to be open to independent investigation.

It's very simple. "There are zebras" is a worthless statement. Showing a live zebra is definitive.
