I'm about 4 hours in and I have learned how important the liver is and how it practically controls all organ function including the heart and brain. The liver uses 50% of your blood at all times, it's the most important organ in your body that detoxes you and stores vital nutrients for you when you need them.
If your liver fails, so will everything else...
REMOVE THESE FROM YOUR DIET: Diary (milk, cheese, etc.) Wheat, Grains & Gluten (bread, rice, grains, barley, oats, corn, beer, etc.) Sugar (Obviously) Soy Processed foods (if it comes in a box, DO NOT EAT) Bad Oils (Palm, Vegetable, etc.)
ADD MORE OF THESE TO YOUR DIET: Water Water Water (more WATER) Pasture Raised Organic Eggs Organic Veggies (Broccoli, Garlic, Carrots, Radishes, any) Organic Fruits (Strawberries, Apples, Blueberries any.) Organic Nuts & Seeds (Brazil, Walnut, Cashews, any.) Good Oils (Fish Oil, Omega 3 6 9)
SUPPLEMENTS Alpha Lipoic Acid (600-900 mg) German or Italian manufacturer only Selenium (200 mcg, this can be found in Brazil Nuts) Milk Thistle (2000 mg) Natural Vitamin C (Dr. Berg has a good one)
*If you don't have a gallbladder, try bovine ox bile. *Look into getting an allergy or food sensitivity blood test.
Removing Dairy, Wheat and Grains is so important as they are highly inflammatory foods that cause your liver to over-work itself. It's also important to remove Alcohol, if you're drinking beer or corn-based alcohol you're doing some serious damage to the liver.
Adding more fruits and vegetables is important, but it's also important to eat strictly organic only to avoid herbicides, pesticides, GMO and etc. Also short term fasting could help take the load off of the liver, drink plenty of clean/pure water (reverse osmosis) and do not drink tap water. Drink water, eat fruits and veggies in the morning and eat some grassfed meats, pasture raised eggs.. eat anything that is in its natural form is the best bet.
The great thing about the liver is, it regenerates. YOU CAN regenerate the liver. I highly recommend this docu-series, you can buy it on stopfattyliver.com but you can watch it for FREE using the links below (this isn't the full series, but hey it's free!):

Some of these diets are too extreme.Ive seen ones with the above foods to avoid plus all nightshade veggies - tomato's potatoes peppers etc and all legumes and beans due to anti nutrients.Youve got hardly anything left to eat by the end of it.
Mediterranean diets have been studied to death and almost always show benefit
I firmly believe that the good Lord designed every ecosystem that can support us to have everything we need in it. This continent has plenty of animals, vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits that have beneficial properties, and we shouldn't have to import foreign foods just to stay healthy.
Of course we do have to unroll the damage that commercial chemical farming does and work out what natural small farms have and do, for example, we should be able to get sufficient iodine and other trace elements from our food, if it grows in or feeds on plants in healthy soil.
Edit: not to dump on a Mediterranean diet, but it's the lifestyle more than the exact diet. Less sedentary, less excess, less artificial things in the food... If they studied clean eaters here I would bet they would find all the health benefits as the Mediterranean studies. But that's not sexy, exotic, or money-making enough.
