Yep. You need a screen to project on to. Check out any laser light show at any concert. Any kind of smoke enhances it. Same would be true of a any projected image. If there is nothing to reflect the light, it just keeps going.

I had this thought in the back of my head, especially with so much of the Canadian smoke hovering over major US cities. Something is up, and it's not the typical climate change BS.
