A tree or plant is fruitful when it reaches maturity and completes it's growth cycle.

To be "fruitful" means to bear the fruit of the heart, to grow and complete your capacity to love unconditionally. You then "multiply" that - in your relationships, in your family, clan, and society, etc.

Bingo. Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
