It seems crazy that that is the baseline being accepted. The idea of "No advanced technology until just recently". An interested man that discovers an ability to melt and combine metals will find a ridiculous amount of technology beyond simply bronze. But they "couldn't develop iron smelting" for 2100 years of blacksmithing through the bronze age?
