Remember when Disney animation studios used to make movies about fairy tales from Europe? Yeah we ain't gonna see that again. It's all movies that take place in some rando Hispanic or Asian country, but I'm sure they'll have plenty that take place in Africa or the Middle East soon (though I'm not sure how they're going to pander the LGBT crowd with a Muslim main character that can't be female or gay...or both.)
I don't MIND if they find a great folk tale from Mexico or Africa or Japan or anywhere else in the world, as long as it's a good one. You want to do a story with Japanese Samurai? The African epic of Sundiata? The Native American hero Hiawatha? Go at it, man!
But don't take the Brother's Grimm and make them LGBT Indian-Asian-Hispanic sandwich which does nothing of any of those cultures except present them with the palest Hollywood stereotype ... especially if that stereotype is bitching about European men.
No, you are going to see those tales again. You are going to see exactly those stories. They'll be rewritten, in the Hispanic or Asian country, as if it were from that region to begin it. It's about overtly replacing the white man, not excluding us.
