Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
After a week of experimentation, I finally managed to spice up my electronic music making by simultaneously using the modular synthesizer, the Akai MPC and the iPad, thanks for that gem of an app that is AUM.
Here’s a Quick’nDirty jam from my holiday mancave: Sorting it out https://youtu.be/gI5WQLRdiKM
I like it.
You must have a very "good ear"!...
Good morning Penisse...it seems we are posting music this fine Sunday morning...I cannot say I have a lot of experience with electronic music...Vangelis would be my only experience...being a pianist I am used to making music by actually playing it so it is funny to see music produced using all your electronics...although I do have an electronic keyboard that I can combine presets with a melody line/left hand chords in hundreds of styles which is a lot of fun...the keyboard can practically play itself...
I enjoyed your piece...I haven't a clue what all your equipment is...but evidently you do...and you enjoy doing it...I see a little piano skills...keep practicing...
Hope you give Keiko Matsui a listen...she is excellent...and very prolific...
Have a great day...you sound busy as always...remember even God took a rest..so perhaps this is your day of rest... God bless...
Hello Dear Tweeti e, thanks for giving my musical jogging a listen. The bit of piano was totally improvised and I got it wrong because it was not loud enough to get with the rest and I had to use more force from my recovering finger than I should have, hence the brievity of that bit. 🥳💐
(Still listening to Keiko Matsui in background.🤗)
She has been playing for over 40 years and has made about 20 CD's so you never run out of good music...she has gone through different interesting phases also...I play her music when I drive...we are best buds...haha...hope you found someone new to explore...she uses an electronic keyboard usually...she is a terrific composer...
Maybe she can inspire some of your pieces...it is always fun to "create" something novel...I did detect more depth and complexity to your song so maybe it is layering more sounds...just sounded fuller...
